Guest Book Reviews and Messages:

Johnathan (January 2023)

Just enjoyed a lovely weekend at Darren and Rebecca's. They made it so special. Lovely breakfast and they made it just home from home. The beach is literally on the doorstep and my dogs just loved it too. Looking forward to coming back soon

SHIYI (January 2023)

Very recommended accommodation! A perfect trip! The boss and the proprietress are awesome, and the experience is one of the best among so many hotels and homestays in the UK. The double bed is just a very large double bed. The sea view is not just a little bit of the sea, but a large window that can see the entire sea. The room is very clean, and there are no thorns in the details.

Colclough (October 2022)

Fabulous hosts in a stunning location.

Absolutely loved my stay with Rebecca and Darren - very friendly and open, great information about the surrounding area and where to go. Fabulous breakfast and the rooms are clean and tidy. It's an older building but that just gives it character. I would definitely go again!

Sarah (October 2022)

Wish I could have stayed longer and not had to rush off so early

Location was great, parking wasn't easy but the welcome I received was lovely and the owners were so helpful and accommodating to my needs going over and above to help me be ready for my triathlon the following morning.

Just the lack of parking

Hamish (August 2022)

Loved the early morning stroll on the beach.

Perfect hosts. Addressed all our peculiar needs with ease and very good cheer.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing to dislike at all.

Hannah (July 2022)

Darren and Rebecca were were welcoming and helpful, I stayed just one night on a stopover trip and the Beechcomber was perfect for what I needed. Neat, clean and nice choice of breakfast.

Edmands (July 2022)

Wonderful - exceeded expectations - hope to return one day

Welcoming, great facilities, good location

Helen (24th July 2022)

Lovely little over nighter.

Lovely welcome on arrival, rooms comfortable, lovely Breakfast and plenty of options to choose from, no rush and offered extras. Both were lovely and friendly, would stay again happily. Location was really good, and easy walk into city centre. Beach straight over the road. Helpful advice on parking and where available to leave car.

No parking available, however plenty of off road parking in surrounding areas- car park nearby. Not a major issue and can't be helped due to location. Nothing negative to say 😃

Mary (July 2022)

Friendly welcome as I arrived a bit early. Fantastic breakfast and although on a busy road, right across the road from a glorious beach. Love the tea coffee & biscuits supplied & constantly topped up. Both Darren & Rebecca well rehearsed in tourist information!

Begum (July 2022)

This was my first time staying in a guest house and I loved it. The room was bigger than I expected and it even had a shower in it. I mostly communicated with Mrs Rebecca and she was a lovely host. I was provided with soap, shampoo and even a toothbrush. The room, shower and the toilet was super clean. I had so much coffee and tea. I felt pretty safe in the room, the door was very heavy and I was given the keys

James (July 2022)

Lovely, friendly hosts. Fabulous breakfast. We were doing a charity walk and they got up early to make us a healthy breakfast. Perfect location for the city of Swansea or the short drive to the beautiful Gower Peninsula

Nothing. The room was a little small but we'll organised and the price reflects this

David (July 2022)

The hosts Darren and Rebecca were excellent. They were very friendly and helpful, for example with parking suggestions and early drop off of luggage. The breakfast was very good with plenty of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and good selection of cooked options. We had a double room with sea views. The room was very clean. The property is directly on the road side and hence as expected, the noise is high if windows are opened and traffic is passing. On a final note, the information folder provided was comprehensive and informative, for those not familiar with Swansea and the surrounding area.

The en-suite facility in our room was functional but rather cosy

Maria (12 May 2022)

I can’t recommend this guesthouse enough. Both hosts were really friendly, they couldn’t do or offer enough for us. The place is spotless and the breakfast was of a really high standard. If you want to be in the centre of Swansea, with sea views and eat like a king or queen, this is the place. Eleven out of ten and six stars. Excellent.

Jamie (10 May 2022

Felt very welcome and comfortable staying here.

The hosts are absolutely awesome, very easy to talk to and super helpful. The rooms are nice and cosy, and I was lucky to have a sea view which was so relaxing at night. Parking is available basically daily from 4 til 8 the next morning which is handy. The breakfast was really tasty and a great start to the day. I'd definitely go back again!

Catherine (10 May 2022)

My room had a gorgeous seaview, the owners were amazingly kind, and the bacon sandwich in the morning was a godsend

Phipps (9 May 2022)

Sunny lovely night away

Lovely b&b. And a lovely couple, so helpful. Will be going back but longer next time. Thanks Darren and Rebecca for a lovely 50th birthday night away for me and my partner

Julene, (12 April 2022)

My stay at Beachcomber was absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend it enough. You can’t ask for better hosts, Rebecca and Darren – they bore with me as I had a late check in, and were very accommodating, always thinking one step ahead. The rooms are clean and quaint, breakfast is amazing, the views of the sea beautiful. The art of hospitality is not lost after all! Thank you for making my stay in Swansea a lovely and memorable one.

John (27 February 2022)

From the moment I arrived everything I needed was available, and clearly explained. The facilities exceeded what you would expect from a budget priced hotel. The owners couldn't do enough to be sure you were had everything you could possibly want. Brilliant!

Sarah (21 February 2022)

The location was great and I loved having a sea view. Darren and Rebecca could not have been more helpful or attentive. It was brilliant I could take my little dog who even had a sausage cooked for her, for breakfast. Really great stay, thank you

James (16 Februarry 2022)

The people who run it are incredibly helpful. It's got amazing views overlooking Swansea Bay and it's not far from the station, restaurants and pubs. Breakfast was very tasty

Rebecca & Darren are great hosts.

Very welcoming and friendly.

Room was lovely and clean and very comfortable, beautiful sea view.

Breakfast sets you up nicely for the day and was lovely.

Very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

We would certainly sty again and would happily recommend the Beachcomber as a great place to stay.

Thank you Debbie & Sheila Hunt (15/09/21)

Although not lavish, it was clean and friendly.

Breakfast was very good, Richard and Debbie were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The information in the room for places to visit was excellent and we visited places we hadn't realised were there that weren't beach related Although the road was busy it was a good location for us with plenty to do within walking distance. We had taken our tandem knowing that there were good cycle paths and the friendly locals advised us of some lovely rides through beautiful countryside.

Very Friendly hosts and close to all amenities

Richard and Debbie were excellent hosts.
Our first trip away with our dog Mylo, were made to feel very welcome.
Beaches close by meant a great starting point for Mylo to experience sand and sea.
The later, he is not sure of yet. But the rest of the weekend we all enjoyed the mumbles, Rhossil bay, and Langland bay.
Recommend for any similar couples with a young dog yet to experience beach life....thank you both again

Warm, Welcoming and Helpful Stayed in a single bed room, very clean, sink and small shower, TV and plug sockets & a comfortable bed. View was straight out to Swansea Bay seeing both Mumbles Pier all the way across to Port Talbot to the other, and while situated at the beachfront and a nice quiet night. Nice breakfast too. For the price it can't be faulted, and for a 3star Guest House I'd happily give 5 Google stars for the experience offered.

Also love that your family area is so close and you are easily accessible.

The B&B was in a really good location overlooking the sea but it's a shame that the weather was so awful very windy and pouring with rain all the time we were in Swansea
There was nothing to dislike Debbie and Richard were very friendly and helpful. The accomodation was good and the breakfast good

The room was clean and the breakfast perfect. The value for money was excellent. The owners are very friendly and attentive. It is a great location for walking to the beach (across the road) and city centre. Parking in streets behind the guest house was easy and very close. Walking to the Singleton Park campus would take 20-30 minutes.

Superb.Gower & Mumbles breathtaking. Rich and Debbie wonderful hosts.
Excellent location. 10 mins stroll into centre. Yes there is a road outside but the waves of the sea make more noise!! Fantastic outlook. Double glazing stopped any noise for me. Full breakfast, toast, home made marmalade, coffee all good. Excellent power shower always just right temp. both am and pm . Separate toilet but ok for me. (No further to walk than at home!)
Just spent 5 mins trying to think of a criticism, have to pass on that one.

Amazing little beach side hotel
The hotel was lovely, the hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and the view was amazing - what's not to like! I'd definitely stay again!
Posted by Sam Garrett on Booking dot com (2/10/19)

We were very happy with our stay and wish the owners every success.
Hosts friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast good. bed comfortable with just the right thickness of duvet - we slept well. On the sea front with a sea view bedroom, so no private parking, but it didn't matter, as we came and went during the forbidden times and it worked out just fine. We particularly liked the proximity to the Gower Peninsular and the Mumbles, so were able to see a bit of the countryside. No interest in Swansea, we were there for a wedding. It's too far from where we live (Norfolk) to visit again, but we highly recommend it to others.
Nothing that could be changed. The only restrictions were lack of parking and the small size of the room, but the latter could be an advantage too, as large rooms tend to be cold and draughty! We were cosy in inclement weather.

We were so lucky to have chosen this guest house in Swansea. The hosts are charming & very accommodating. The breakfasts were great, the bed perfect & having a drink in the evening without having to go out was ideal. We recommend this place highly !

It was a very cosy hotel. I had a lovely room overlooking the sea. The bed was comfy and everything worked well. Breakfast was very varied and well presented. The hosts were exceptionally helpful and even posted back something I had stupidly left in the room. I was going to a Wedding close to the hotel at 1:30 and the room was ready for me at noon so that I could change in good time.

Quaint Guest house
Booked a single room as I was attending a wedding in Swansea. Some people would say 'dated' but I say it was full of old fashioned character. A fabulous view of the beach from my window! Not quite 'en suite' It had a shower but no toilet, that was along the hall but the price was appropriate. Very comfy bed and a lovely breakfast.there was a well stocked bar too. Not much parking available but I found a space a couple or roads away. All round a lovely stay. Thank you Richard. You were a treasure!

Brilliant !
What a fabulous place to stay for visiting the gower peninsula. We stayed in a small double bedded room with a fantastic view of the beach from our window. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, freshly cooked to order. Richard and Debbie (the owners) could not have done more to make us feel welcome.
Parking was a complex (but free), which we expected when we booked. Well worth the effort given the wonderful waterfront position!

Had a great couple of days.
The breakfast was lovely. Richard and Debbie are very accommodating and helpful with any allergies you may suffer, nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a sea view room so it was lovely to look out at the sea in the mornings. The location of the guest house is about 10 minute drive from the Mumbles, so it's very easy to go exploring around the Gower. Richard gave us a map of the Gower and it was simple to use. We would leave around 9.45am each morning and arrive back to the guest house approximately 11.15pm in the evening. Felt very safe going into the guest house.

Three day break and handy for Swansea Bay parkrun.
Traditional guesthouse on the seafront. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a friendly and extremely helpful host, Richard. Great breakfast! Ideal location to explore the Gower and close to the city centre. If you are a parkrun tourist the start of the Swansea Bay parkrun is less than ten minutes walk away. If coming by car parking is a bit difficult (but that appears to be true of the whole of Swansea) so have a chat with Richard before hand for advice on the best places to park.

Fantastisch!! Auf jedenfall weiter zu empfehlen. JEDER Zeit wieder😊

Fantastic!! Definitely recommendable. ANY time 😊
The breakfast was awesome. My ocean view room was small but nice. I had a sink and shower and everything was very clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed it very much. It is a slightly older house but it has the certain English charm. I have never met such warm attentive hosts and have been supported in all my projects with the best tips, be it timetables or other things you need, such as hairdryers ...

Perfect Hosts, Excellent Location & Spot-On made to order Breakfast
Easy to find parking around the corner, small grocery & several restaurants just a block away. Hotel is located directly across the street from the ocean & the view out my window was perfect. Easy check in & the Hosts are friendly with small touches throughout the hotel make your stay a delight. The word that keeps coming to mind is professional, all the way. My room was up several flights of stairs but easy access to the exterior toilet. Sink and hot shower however are in the room along with a very comfortable bed, flat screen TV & several places to store your luggage & personals. Towels, shampoo & soap supplied. Final touch is the perfect, made to order breakfast - totally yummy, especially sitting in the front bay window overlooking the ocean. Just stay here you won’t be disappointed. PS - love the WiFi code (lol)

Walking Holiday in The Gower
Richard and Debbie were very helpful and friendly hosts. We stayed for just over a week, and enjoyed our stay because the room was lovely, overlooking the Swansea Bay, nice and comfortable bed and most importanly very clean.

A very good value stay in an excellent location right opposite the sea.
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the Beachcomber. The place was spotlessly clean, warm, and our room had all we needed for a one-night stay, including wifi and a small desk area. The breakfast was freshly cooked and enjoyable. However, an added bonus was home-made marmalade, served in two flavours - orange and grapefruit.

Short Stay
I called Beachcomber as I was unsure if I was in the nearest carpark and spoke to Richard who informed me as it was now Saturday after 4pm I could park directly outside the hotel until 8am Monday morning, so that's worth bearing in mind.

As I was a lone traveller I had a single room and though it was very small it was actually perfect for my needs. The room has a bed, TV, small cupboard, sink and shower, as well as tea, coffee etc. Richard was very friendly upon greeting and carried my bag up to my room, explaining breakfast, WiFi, keys etc.

The room has a beautiful view, though the road outside can cause a little disturbance, mostly from the odd car that bombs past the hotel. I'm a light sleeper and would recommend other light sleepers bring some ear plugs (but that's not an uncommon requirement for me).

My stay was very short but perfectly suited to my needs and at a good price.

Breakfast was lovely and was served very quickly.
Would definately stay here again if we were down this way.

Everything from our initial contact when we made the booking, to when we departed, was welcoming and very helpful. We greatly appreciated being able to take our dog. Accommodation was spotless and comfortable. Hosts were friendly and endlessly helpful, even with my technical problems with my laptop. Breakfasts were delicious and offered choice to my dietary needs, as I am a diabetic. We especially enjoyed the homemade marmalade with our morning toast. Plenty of tea and coffee were available in our room. We didn't get the opportunity to visit the beaches on Oystermouth Road as our visit coincided with a major weather warning, high winds and squally showers. We most definitely will return in the future, to this well situated, welcoming and comfortable accommodation.
What we didn't like, was that we couldn't stay any longer.

We had a lovely welcome from the owner when we arrived. Our bedroom was of a good size, with a huge bed in it. It had it's own bathroom with shower. Situated on the seafront, the views were amazing of Swansea bay. Came down for breakfast and was served straight away. Being a vegetarian I had a meat free breakfast but they also had vegan butter and soya milk for my coffee. They were very accommodating towards me.  There were flowers all around the building which made it look really pretty and was told that in the summer they look even better when all the flowers come out. We will have to revisit to see. We would definitely recommend this lovely place and would definitely go back again. Well done.

Perfect with pets.
Wonderful accommodation, location and best of all lovely hosts. Breakfasts were excellent, especially the toast with home-marmalde. Very difficult to find a fault, except that we couldn't stay longer. Being able to take our dog was the cherry on the cake. Rooms may seem small, but well thought out and spotless. We can't recommend Beachcomber highly enough.

We liked how welcoming it was entering the beachcomber, it's our first time staying in a guest house and it was delightful. Catered to our needs, lovely breakfast and comfortable clean room. Willing to help whenever needed.

It's a gem.
It's a cosy place and Debbie and Richard, the hotel owners, are lovely welcoming people and very helpful. They are very knowledgeable about the local area, there is also lots of printed tourist information and even a really fascinating home produced booklet full of local and Welsh history and how to pronounce Welsh words. Breakfast was beautifully cooked.

A Surprising Treat
My daughter and I stayed at The Beachcomber while I was in Wales for her graduation. The family owned and run B&B was cozy, cheerful and highly econmical. The room was small but had its own bathroom and was quite snug on the cold damp nights. The view in the dining room was lovely and breakfast was outstanding. The owners are so nice and so friendly. Our stay was very enjoyable. It is unlike anything in the US. If I am back in Swansea anytime soon I will totally stay again.

Nice overnight stay
at just a 10 minute walk from the town centre we booked into this B&B for a night out with friends. Small family run B&B which if your looking for contemporary modern rooms is probably not for you. Great night sleep (although the bathroom was very small for 2 6ft + people) and Breakfast in the morning hit the spot.

Transl: Very nice rooms, great location (right on the sea), rooms had sea view, super comfortable bed, you feel at home, everything was very clean and tidy, great breakfast, the owners are very friendly and accommodating, very reasonable price for great service , highly recommended, only the Wi-Fi is a bit slow, but who needs Wi-Fi if you have the sea :)

Great value for money
I had a one night stay at Beachcomber. This B&B is well situated for everything, city centre, restaurants and beach. Richard is a good host, he carried my bag up to my room which was rather dark due to being at the side of the house and the view from the window looked at the side of the property next door. However, the road along the sea front is very busy so I had a quiet nights sleep. Not sure what it is like having a sea view room. A glass of wine was £2.50, great value. Breakfast was good and served quickly. If I had reason to go to Swansea again for a might I would definitely choose Beachcomber.

I received excellent service, and very friendly , rooms were clean .As an elderly solo traveller they helped me with various things . I shall certainly be recommending this guesthouse, to any other visitors to Swansea.

Lovely Stay

Great location beach right across the road, a ten minute walk into the town centre. Very friendly hosts, said where to park and apologised for the kettle not working in the room and then rushed about and got a replacement straight away. Good cooked breakfast in the morning, plenty of tea and coffee and cereal on offer. Small room but fine for just sleeping in. Would stay again.

Warm welcome
Just spent four nights at the Beachcomber. As soon as we arrived the owner Richard was very welcoming and helped us up to our room with our luggage. He was very informative when we asked his advise on places to visit and where best to park when we got there.
The guest house was clean and the cooked breakfast was great. The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of milk, coffee, tea & biscuits in the room which were replenished during our stay. Flanels, small soaps, shower gels & shower caps were on the beds when we arrived along with towels.
The guest house is in a great spot and just across the road from the accommodation. A great location to explore The Gower & Mumbles. Close to the shopping centre and loads of different things to do. Plenty of on street parking. Would stay there again.

Weekend away
Ab Fab B & B . ~Nice warm welcome, guidance about parking. Shown to room, lovely & clean. The rest of our party arrived & got the same welcome as us. Off we went to town etc. Breakfast was good, a request of almost burnt bacon was not a problem, nor to have a toasted bacon sandwich. In fact nothing was too much trouble, even in the evening when the owners were snuggled on their sofa & we disturbed them for a drink. Would defo recommend this B & B to everybody.

A Warm Welcome
We stayed here for a one-nighter while taking advantage of the kids not being around. We had a room on the first floor with a lovely sea view. The room was quite small but it wasn't really a problem. The bed was really comfy - the only reason we had trouble sleeping was because of the heatwave, which you can hardly blame the hotel for!

The breakfast served was lovely and the owner was extremely sociable. This place is also less than 10 minutes walk from a number of Indian restaurants and pubs so as well as being on the sea front, it's well situated for an evening out. Would certainly consider a return visit.

Good old B and B at a great price.
Stayed here for one night, booked by phone and got a better deal than booking.com. The owner Richard was very helpful. The room was clean and had everything you needed. It is on a dual carriageway, but great beach views. Breakfast was good and hearty. Great price.

It's a place by the beach and 4 lines road of traffic. If you want to go to town centre then it will take you about 15 min. Very welcoming host Richard and Debby. They can do everything for you. Nice place to stay

This property is cute and cozy and right on the beach --- with a spectacular view at sunset.
This is a cute little property just on the beach in Swansea, The rooms are cozy and because of the beach just outside the window, everything is very quiet at night. I got a very good night's sleep. Breakfast is good - there are several options. Full English is simple and fills you up well for traveling. Love the English rashers; nothing like them in the States. The view though as you drive up the coast toward Mumbles and the lighthouse - just spectacular.

Didn’t want to go home
Was just like staying at a family/friends house, nothing was to much! Views to die for, with the beach being seconds away, very quaint and like a splendid time capsule. beautiful building! Lovely people and tasty breakfast! Want to travel back to wales just to stay again

Just home from a 2 night stay at the beachcomber in Swansea. We took the ferry from rosslare to fishguard and drove to Swansea. When we arrived at the location the owners were outside painting the building. We asked about where to park and the lady got into the car with my partner and helped him find a car parking space. Richard then helped me check in and he walked me to our room, which I thought was a lovely gesture. The room is quaint and really clean. There were brochures of things to do and see in Swansea on the bed.
There was tea/coffee making facilities which is a big plus. The beach is literally across the road and we had a beautiful weekend weather so we enjoyed strolls done the beach.
We enjoyed breakfast as part of our package with cereals, orange juice and Cooked breakfast available. Perfect to set you up for the day.
We had a lovely relaxing weekend in Swansea, and the hospitality in the beachcomber added to our weekend. We would certainly stay here again if we return to Swansea.

L'ho adorato! A pochi minuti dalla cittadina, sul lungomare. Stanza pulita, accogliente e con doccia e lavabo in camera, vista mare; set di cortesia minimo ma giusto, asciugamani e bollitore. Letto comodo. Colazione all'inglese. Conduzione familiare: gentilissimi! Prezzo onesto e ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Piccolo. Pulito. Molto accogliente. Nessun problema. Ho lasciato il trolley, il giorno dopo, e ho girato per la cittadina. Sono stata solo una notte, ma ci tornerei ora! I liked so much!!
Transl: I loved it! A few minutes from the town, on the seafront. Clean, cozy room with shower and sink in the room, sea view; minimum but fair courtesy set, towels and kettle. Comfortable bed. English breakfast. Family management: very kind! Honest price and excellent value for money. Small. Clean. Very welcoming. No problem. I left the trolley the next day and walked around the town. I've only been one night, but I would stay here again! I liked so much !!
